The Human Form

This series is as an exploration of the human form within portraiture. What is the human form? Is it our skin, our eyes, the shape of our head, the silhouette of our bodies? I wanted to see the bounds of the human form and discover the range of its volition. In my exploration, I was drawn to the abstraction of the human body and what constitutes a portrait. Several compositions were inspired by the horror film genre. Each image was shot on 35 mm film and printed on silver gelatin paper in the darkroom. Several techniques were applied, including negative printing, negative burning, and overlay manipulation.
